We offer pure, natural materials for surface finishing, renovation, and construction.

Since 2006, our experience and quality have helped create cozy, healthy spaces where true luxury means closeness to nature and the calm of a peaceful space.

At UKU, we bring you timeless materials and expertise to transform any space into a sanctuary of natural beauty and harmony.

Reusable

You can create a unique and lasting home while knowing that your choices are not harming the planet. For example, the clay plaster on the wall can be reused in another room or residence. So you can say that you can take your plaster with you when you move.

Compostable

UKU plasters and paints do not require special conditions for disposal. After use, the leftover mixture can be returned to nature, as our products are made of natural materials that do not harm the environment and create harmony between home, nature and people.

Chemical and VOC free

The plasters and paints produced by UKU are 100% natural, made from clay or lime. This means that they do not contain any chemicals or VOCs, ensuring a clean and healthy indoor climate in every home.

TAB 2024

Resources for the Future

At the Tallinn Architecture Biennale (TAB), Saviukumaja highlights the importance of traditional and locally sourced natural materials by contributing to Déchelette Architecture’s project, which focuses on local natural building materials and techniques.

The installation, “Ornamental Records from Tallinn,” offered an immersive experience where visitors moved among rammed-earth columns combined with metal and wood fragments. Each column produced sounds that reflected the materials used, creating a rhythmic and sensory experience in the space.

The project blended ancient materials and techniques with industrial elements, showcasing the potential of natural materials and traditional craftsmanship in the future of carbon-free architecture.

Marko Kikas, founder of Saviukumaja, was pleased to contribute the rammed-earth mixture for the installation, seeing materials like clay and lime increasingly recognized and used by architects as legitimate, traditional, and natural building resources.

🎨 Creating Layers of Texture in a Studio 🎨

Here’s a peek at a studio transformation, showcasing the power of natural materials! On the left, we’ve used a rich 0-2 Burgundy clay plaster, creating a textured surface. The larger wall is dressed in red clay paint, bringing a softer but equally captivating tone to the space. 🍂

Each layer of clay brings warmth, grounding the space while keeping it visually interesting and alive with texture.

✨ Design Insight: Mixing materials like clay plaster and clay paint add aesthetic appeal and it can change the feel of the entire room, making it both inviting and inspiring. Perfect for any creative studio!
